Special thanks to the contributors of the open-source code that was used in this project: and you might like to check out the growing collection of curated slang words for different topics over at Slangpedia. There is still lots of work to be done to get this slang thesaurus to give consistently good results, but I think it's at the stage where it could be useful to people, which is why I released it. Please also note that due to the nature of the internet (and especially UD), there will often be many terrible and offensive terms in the results. Or you might try boyfriend or girlfriend to get words that can mean either one of these (e.g. The search algorithm handles phrases and strings of words quite well, so for example if you want words that are related to lol and rofl you can type in lol rofl and it should give you a pile of related slang terms. The higher the terms are in the list, the more likely that they're relevant to the word or phrase that you searched for. Note that this thesaurus is not in any way affiliated with Urban Dictionary.ĭue to the way the algorithm works, the thesaurus gives you mostly related slang words, rather than exact synonyms. The official Urban Dictionary API is used to show the hover-definitions. These indexes are then used to find usage correlations between slang terms. However, it definitely gets peoples attention! Overall very effective. The Urban Thesaurus was created by indexing millions of different slang terms which are defined on sites like Urban Dictionary. Save this one for the worst of the worst situations in my opinion. Can be used universally and for both genders. nasty, etc., the word becomes a weapon that can tear into the victim like a knife and leave them in shock and awe. When preceded by adjectives like smelly, sloppy. You can call a woman any number of bad names but NOTHING comes close to this one. This is unquestionably the rudest, most derogatory word to say to a woman. My girlfriend uses this word multiple times daily, as do I. A word is only offensive if someone takes offense to it, so if everyone stopped being so petty and getting upset over words, none would be offensive.

Personally I don't see anything wrong with using the word, but it seems to upset my mum and the vast majority of older generations. I think it should be number two because racism is worse than profanity. However, I've said it in the car when someone pulls out in front of me. It is deemed to be the worst swear word and I guess, rightly so.

I hear it said because I live in Yorkshire and people shorten 'could not' twice here and it sounds just the same. I hear this word three or four times daily. It is wrong to say this word, but somehow it affects people so much. This is definitely the most offensive, though I do not understand why people let words have so much power over them. It should be that either they're all bad to say, or none of them are. People are the most easily offended by this word, holding it to a higher standard than "normal" cuss words, which is pretty ridiculous if you ask me. The only time I can see this being used by white people is times where it actually makes sense, like an actor saying the word when they're playing a racist person or something like that. I don't feel I need to say why this is racist. Its racist for whites to say it because its what they used to call us back when times were racist to blacks. Black people say it all the time but they have the pass to say that. Whoever said this shouldn't be on the list it should because its just short for the original racial slur(u know what) and its actually really racist.
